What can’t Mac McClung do? After being chosen for the dunk contest, Mac McClung signed a two-way contract with the Philadelphia 76ers and hasn’t looked back since. Dunk contest victor, a brand new shoe deal, a two-way contract, and now, a Player of the Week award. The Delaware Blue Coats guard has been on fire lately, averaging 28.7 points, 4.3 assists, and 4.3 three-pointers made per game over the last week. He is currently averaging 19.3 points, and 5.0 assists per game on 55.7/47.8/80.7 shooting splits.

After an outstanding performance at #ATTSlamDunk during #NBAAllStar, Mac McClung is back & making his mark. Averaging 28.7 PTS, 4.3 AST, 4.3 3PM and leading @blue_coats to a 3-0 record, McClung earned the title of G League Player of the Week. pic.twitter.com/GST9YpX8RS
The former Georgetown and Texas Tech guard went undrafted in the 2021 draft and maybe the single most successful NBA player to appear in less than three NBA games. At the very least, he is having the best single-season performance ever in terms of mainstream success while never appearing in an NBA game. McClung garnered national attention this year by single-handedly saving the entirety of All-Star Weekend, showing off the creativity and the athleticism that the dunk contest had been lacking for years.
After his incredible victory over the likes of Trey Murphy, Jericho Sims, and KJ Martin. Upon his victory, Mac McClung got a brand new Puma shoe deal.

The incredibly athletic guard has since been playing only for the Delaware Blue Coats, continuing to hone his skills, make highlight plays, and show off for both his fans and his teammates. Only time will tell when he makes his 76ers debut, or if he ever will, but Mac McClung will forever remain in the history books as the first Sixers player to ever win the dunk contest.
Mac McClung being the first Sixer to win the dunk contest is crazy for a franchise that had both Dr. J (who the trophy is named after) and Andre Iguodala.
